Produção industrial espanhola caiu 20,7 por cento durante o primeiro semester 05.08.2009 - 08h53 A produção industrial espanhola apresentou em Junho uma queda homóloga de 16,2 por cento, num valor já corrigido dos efeitos de sazonalidade (-14,5% sem essa correcção), o que atirou a queda homóloga da produção do sector no semestre para 20,7 por cento, também descontando os efeitos de sazonalidade, revelou hoje o Instituto Nacional de Estatística (INE) de Espanha.A queda de Junho foi particularmente forte nos bens de consumo duradouros (-33,7 por cento homólogos corrigidos da sazonalidade), nos bens de equipamento (-24 por cento) e nos bens intermédios (-21,3 por cento). Os bens não duradouros e a energia tiveram quedas homólogas muito mais moderadas, de respectivamente -2,3 por cento e 8,4 por cento, corrigidos da sazonalidade. O perfil da queda é idêntico para o conjunto do primeiro semestre, mas no mês passado o segmento dos bens não duradouros revelou uma quebra bastante atenuada face ao valor de -7,5 por cento no semestre. As actividades com quebras mais moderadas no semestre foram a indústria alimentar (-1,7% homólogos) e a produção de medicamentos (-2,2%). As descidas mais acentuadas ocorreram na produção de veículos automóveis e atrelados (-43,7%) e na produção de minerais não metálicos (-35,2%).

PARIS — One engine of an Airbus 320 plane preparing to carry 165 passengers from Paris to Spain caught fire before takeoff Wednesday, and eight passengers received skin burns when they used the emergency exit slides, Vueling airline and French police said. The passengers were injured as they tried to exit the Airbus 320 plane at Paris' Orly airport south of the French capital, Helene Courcoul, chief of staff at the Val de Marne prefecture, told The Associated Press. The Vueling plane was on its way to Alicante in southeastern Spain when the incident on Flight 9127 occurred at 10:36 a.m., the low-cost carrier said. The aircraft went into reverse to disengage from the boarding ramp when the right engine caught fire for unknown reasons, the Vueling statement said. Courcoul said the fire broke out as the plane was disengaging from the boarding ramp. Firemen rushed to the scene and quickly put out the blaze. The 165 passengers and the crew were evacuated. Courcoul said the eight injured people were treated by Orly airport medical personnel for skin burns they received when their bodies chafed against the slides as they went down from the aircraft. There was no damage to airport facilities or to other nearby aircraft.
