Hexane of F1:

Hexane of F1:

1. The teams leading this are owned by corporate giants; they are not going to take a step like this lightly and they are not going to back down and make themselves look silly.
2. The teams have bound themselves together in an almost fanatical way to stop Mosley or Bernie splitting them.
3. Brawn GP has stayed with Fota. There was some nervousness Brawn might jump but he has stayed and that is a big deal for the teams.
4. The FIA are talking tough but why did they not announce their entries for next season? Answer: because, compared to Fota's team-sheet, the FIA's is very poor and is not a viable basis for the continuation of Formula One. All the big drivers and teams are with the rebels.
5. Max does not have the political capital in the bank he once had. He is a weaker figure for a variety of reasons and the teams are sensing their moment to move in on him.
6. In politics, this is the moment the "men in grey suits" knock on the door and politely but firmly tell the prime minister that the game is up (the end of Margaret Thatcher's premiership comes to mind). Because of what I call the "democratic shortfall" between Max and the people he rules.
