Detienen al broker sospechoso de provocar 751 millones de pérdidas en Caisse d'Epargne

La policía francesa ha anunciado la detención del presunto broker que provocó pérdidas por valor de 751 millones en grupo bancario Caisse d'Epargne, el pasado 6 de octubre en varias operaciones bursátiles.El pasado 24 de octubre, la Fiscalía de París abrió una investigación preliminar para determinar cómo fueron las pérdidas ocasionadas y buscar responsabilidades penales en las prácticas de operadores de comportamiento dudoso. El pasado lunes, policías de la brigada financiera se personaron en la sede parisina del banco para recoger documentación. El grupo bancario, que aglutina a las Cajas de Ahorro de Francia, había presentado una denuncia por "abuso de confianza" y como consecuencia de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo por los servicios de inspección y deontología (parte de la filosofía que trata de la moral y de las obligaciones del hombre) de la Caja Nacional de Cajas de Ahorro y Previsión (CNCE), el banco había constatado "elementos preocupantes" sobre las condiciones en que se realizaron las operaciones que generaron el agujero de 751 millones de euros.

Caisse d’Epargne anunció pérdidas por un valor de 600 millones por las operaciones realizadas por uno de sus brokers en una semana en la que las bolsas registraron fuertes caídas. En plena debacle bursátil, el asunto fue calificado como "incidente" por las autoridades de la entidad francesa aunque al final acabó con la dimisión de toda la cúpula directiva del banco.

Desde esa fecha, la factura no ha hecho más que aumentar. Una auditoría interna estimaba las pérdidas en 695 millones el pasado 22 de octubre y la denuncia presentada el viernes pasado en 751 millones de euros.
