The Long Ship Saga.

The Long Ship Saga. Some times, I lost in my thoughts thinking if it is right to be repetitive about same names and issues, like I’m doing now? Like the for example, going almost crazy just to think about the possibility the one day to “lose the Nord”. Such eventuality, that I’m forgetting that exist million of people who work or make, or making the fortunes disregarding completely this concern. Actually, exactly how the Barroso say: “Work is the North, but reaches lie in the South”. In this way (the artificial poverty), I almost agree with him. Really, who cares from where or how the money for me comes from? Important only is the my wellbeing, the rest is just fallacies. Like the crucial and vital theme of the ‘ransoming’ of my trousers. (See the article ‘the Pink Sapphire’ and think about my very special application made in King Charles street SW1A 2AH). In any way, some folks want me to do this, others want me to do that, and yet I think that both had equally unwise ideas. To ransoming my trousers, I’m naturally arriving at the conclusion that I cannot afford to listen to anyone. Irrevoigably and absolutely I must listen this time only to myself. Wear some kind of the psychological equivalent to the pair of earplugs. And trust my instincts. Even for me are applicable the new rule, like that Barroso’s Italian “Mandadori”, like that Spanish Sancho Pança, of FSA: - Without trousers – out! Independently the how many long ships with this weather report are going to sink.

FSA sets out tough new liquidity rules. October 5 2009 12:26. UK banks and investment firms would have to increase their holdings of cash and government bonds by £110bn and cut their reliance on short-term funding by 20 per cent in the first year of tough liquidity standards put forward by the Financial Services Authority on Monday. If the FSA ramps up the requirements in subsequent years, as expected, banks and investment firms could have to increase their holdings of easily saleable assets by a total of £370bn or cut their reliance on short-term funding by 80 per cent from today’s levels and boost their cash and bonds by a total of £170bn. The affected banks currently hold roughly £300bn in eligible assets, so these rules would impose a significant change to their business models. The FSA has promised the regime will not take effect until regulators are confident the recession is over. Regulators are likely to begin considering a timetable for implementation from the middle of next year. The liquidity rules put the FSA at the forefront of efforts to prevent a repeat of the collapses of Lehman Brothers and Northern Rock. The UK is the first leading country to impose new liquidity requirements, although Group of 20 countries have all pledged to follow suit. “We thought it was very important to put in place a strong regime in place in time for the end of the recession. You can’t wait six months or a year or two years because then you don’t have enough time before the next recession,” said Paul Sharma, FSA director of prudential policy. The liquidity rules apply equally to UK institutions as well as the branches and subsidiaries of overseas groups. Branches and subsidiaries, however, may seek a waiver as long as their home state regulator also updates its liquidity regime and agrees to share information with the FSA. Where waivers are granted, branches and subsidiaries will be able to rely in part on the liquid assets held by their parent group. However, they will need to have enough cash and government bonds on hand to keep themselves afloat for some short period of time. This requirement is designed to avoid a repeat of the Lehman situation, where cash was swept to the US every night, leaving the European operations penniless when the parent went under, Mr Sharma said. The full rules are expected to apply to about 210 UK-based banks, building societies and large investment firms, as well as nearly 200 branches of overseas groups. An additional 90 institutions will be covered by a less onerous regime which has fewer reporting requirements. In a nod to industry complaints about the cost of complying with the new requirements, the liquidity rules exempt about 200 smaller investment firms that had been included in earlier drafts. But the FSA held firm on its narrow definition of liquid assets, excluding the corporate bonds, asset-backed securities and derivatives that many banks had counted as liquid assets before the financial crisis…The UK’s decision to move ahead first has caused anxiety among many in the City of London. Angela Knight, chief executive of the British Bankers Association, said: “The key issue is that changes really need to be taken internationally before we even start.” “If this is implemented before we’re properly out of recession, that will depress economic recovery,” she warned.

Berlusconi ‘responsible’ in corruption case. MILAN - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was jointly responsible for corruption by his Fininvest company in a 1990s battle to buy publisher Mondadori, a judge said in arguments for imposing damages on the company. “Silvio Berlusconi is co-responsible in the corruption issue ... as a logical consequence [of] the principle of civil responsibility” as head of the company, said the court document explaining the decision which Reuters obtained on Monday. There was no immediate comment from the prime minister’s office. A Milan administrative court has now ruled Fininvest should pay €750m ($1.10bn) in damages to CIR, the holding company of Berlusconi’s rival Carlo De Benedetti, whose daily newspaper La Repubblica has led recent press coverage of the prime minister’s private life. CIR shares were up 8.7 percent at 1.575 euros. Fininvest has said it would seek a suspension of the court order while it appeals against the verdict. In 2007 Berlusconi was cleared of responsibility in the criminal case over corruption at Fininvest after the charges against him were dropped because of the time that had elapsed from when the alleged crimes took place. His former lawyer, Cesare Previti, was found guilty of bribing a judge in 1991 to rule in favour of Fininvest in the battle with CIR. Berlusconi’s aides have spoken of “a concentric attack” on the prime minister, depicting the court ruling against Fininvest as the last straw. Some even threaten to call early elections if such attacks continue. The 73-year-old premier, now in his third term, is under increasing pressure over sex scandals. Critics also complain of how the freedom of the Italian press has been stifled via his ownership of Mediaset, his influence on state broadcaster RAI and national newspapers and the lawsuits he has filed against newspapers in Italy and abroad. This week a constitutional court should rule on a law approved last year granting Berlusconi immunity from prosecution. It protected him in February this year when British lawyer David Mills was convicted of taking $600,000 in 1997 to give false testimony to protect Berlusconi and Fininvest. The stock market saw some speculation Fininvest might sell some of its investments to pay for the damages or seek higher dividends from Mediaset and Mondadori, analysts said. Shares in Mediaset were up 1.1 percent at €4.65 by 1139 GMT and Mondadori was up 3.5 percent at 3.38 euros, both reversing initial heavy losses. The DJ Stoxx European index of media companies was up 1.2 percent.

The Pink Sapphire.

The Pink Sapphire. Catching yesterday the flue make me realize how intense and ‘workaholic’ last weeks where. Only to finding in horoscope that the Mercury who has been heavy “associate” to me for the last couples weeks, that Planet of business and negotiations’, make me realize how wide were the others people pretensions. (The Iran, Autoeuropa, CIC and KazMunaiGas, Cisco and “Norway”, France and two streams, Irish vote and Opel, the Big Taicho in “finances”, etc.). Now, this morning, I feel less stressed or “under the gun”. The black cloud lifts and the sun beams down, warming and cheering me (like that fox) up. Instead of worried mind, I have a more confident one. Instead of assuming the worst about others, I give each (Lemberg cats) person enough ‘pano p’ra manga’ to reveal theirs true personality, motives and character. By doing this, I’m less judgmental and a lot more relaxed. Instead of taking a defensive stance, I’m willing to assume a more open position. Something likes the ‘we are bachelors baby’. In this way, in my “walking about” I don’t need to win, control or dominate. Or be like that “ex parrot” from Monty Python. Just try to peacefully coexist. Already is good job to don’t know what everyone of the seven billion other people who live in this planet want. But in same time, I got crystal clear picture of what policy makers and CV brokers want. For instance, this Monday morning. These snooty professionals could turn up theirs noses at my, forever “amateur” efforts. Okay. Than, come back to accert ourselves through my “professional” (see abo-o-ove) and personal associations. Immediately, in same instant, the communications (I.e. the my comments, explanations, remarks, observations, annotations, clarifications and/or interpretations) – tend to concern corporate business and Insurance programmes. Like this, more later trip to ransoming my trousers. That, strictly business purpose, where the intellectual interests turns towards the “secrets”, “mysteries”, “science”, “investigation” and sex. However, com intuições mais prescisas, percepções profundas e de aspirações claras. To don’t letting them to spoil my enjoyment of a favorite hobby. (The telling to Kuchma “Я тебе зроблю”, or who are in deed the Barroso and Solana, or how the tycoon Mittal оказался not in the Tony Blair, not in the face representing AIST in Brussels, not in the Trichet, but in my, the V.A. Glugovsky pocket.) Better control of financial security, earning the power – is okay. So, who’s the winner?

Baosteel seeks stake in Anglo mine. Sun Oct 4, 2009 4:09pm BST. LONDON (Reuters) - Chinese steel and iron ore group Baosteel has proposed to pay 1 billion pounds for a 30 percent stake in Anglo American's (AAL.L: Quote, Profile, Research) huge Minas Rio iron ore mine in Brazil, according to a report on Sunday. The Observer said any deal with Baosteel could help Anglo fend off suitor Xstrata (XTA.L: Quote, Profile, Research), which last week was told to make a formal bid for Anglo by October 20 or walk away for six months. A spokesman for Anglo declined to comment on the Observer report but reiterated the firm would consider the introduction of an investor to Minas Rio as it moves to the second phase of development of the mine.

Mittal set to quit $20bn Indian steel project. October 4 2009 19:33. Lakshmi Mittal is close to pulling out of a $20bn plan to build two large steel plants in India – the centrepiece of efforts by one of the world’s most prominent industrialists to expand in the country of his birth. Delays in persuading farmers and others to sell the land he needs for the developments in the states of Jharkand and Orissa are “unacceptable”, the chairman and main owner of the ArcelorMittal steel company told the FT. “If we cannot make progress in these two sites we will have to abandon the idea of starting the projects there and look for other places in India for our expansion,” Mr Mittal said. Although Mr Mittal said he was still committed to building at least one steel plant in India, abandoning his plan to have two sites producing between them about 24m tonnes of steel a year by around 2015 would be a big blow. It would delay by several years his plans to have a sizeable presence in India. Mr Mittal, whose company is the world’s biggest steelmaker but has very little presence in India, said people there had to be “educated” into supporting gradual industrialisation, including the need to build new steel plants on agricultural land. Persuading individuals to release land for development has long been a political problem for India, leading to government efforts to make it easier for industrialists to buy land. Last year, Tata Motors had to move its plant for its new Nano car from West Bengal to Gujarat after difficulties in getting approval for land purchases. India is well behind China in terms of steelmaking. Last year, it produced 55m tonnes. slightly more than a tenth of Chinese production. In spite of this, India is already the world’s fifth biggest country in terms of steel output. Mr Mittal, whose company has been working on its planned Indian plants for more than two years, thinks that by 2020 India will be making four times as much steel as it does now. Even though this year world steel output is likely to be 10-15 per cent down on last year as a result of the recession, in India 2009 production is expected to be well ahead of last year’s. ArcelorMittal said that if it decided to abandon plans for the two sites, for which preparatory work has been under way for two years, the financial effect would be “negligible” since no land had so far been acquired and no building work done.

Aviva plans partial float of Delta Lloyd in November. Aviva, Britain's second-biggest insurer, said it expected the partial floatation of Delta Lloyd, its Dutch unit, to be completed in November.Published: 9:59AM BST 05 Oct 2009. The company said in August it planned to bring the business to market when market conditions allowed. Aviva aims to use the proceeds to restructure its balanace sheet and "explore other opportunities for growth". Delta Lloyd said the IPO would "provide the opportunity to consider consolidation options which the Delta Lloyd Group foresees in the Netherlands and Belgium". It will list on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange. Aviva will sell a minority holding but gave no indication about how much of its stake it plans to sell. Reuters, citing sources familiar with the IPO plans, reported that Aviva wanted to raise around €1bn (£910m) through the sale of a 25pc stake. This suggests a €4bn valuation for the business as a whole.

Two teenage girls die after 125ft plunge from Erskine Bridge. Two teenage girls have died after jumping 125ft hand-in-hand into a river from the Erskine Bridge near Glasgow. The pair fell from the road bridge shortly before 9pm on Sunday. They were seen holding hands as they leapt from the bridge. Police said they were still trying to establish their identities. What sort of product the “public” wants.

Go to write in a way what is more appropriate for this “in her majesty, the old cocaine whore the Elizabeth the II, services”. Получая сегодня ночью в голову, тот, раздражающий меня своими зубами, со стороны “5” (the clean five off-shores and the clean five Royalties and Concessions from Covilha) openly run at me. Сразу объясняя мне кто он, and how the brits are taking, were taking and will be take responsibility by this избивания. Мол, “we take the care of this”. Through the BBC oda about how the Harry meat the Sally. How the Boris where sleeping with Bragança to have a London and vice versa. Сначало загонят меня в могилу – than take the care of the rest. Notable the growing resistance from the nation of the shit from camel turned around, mean the United Kingdom and shift to the right in this augmented intolerance after the our Irish O’Bama win the US elections. And my little touches from yesterday notes, about who will be President of the EU (cocaine ex President of Portuguese Republic, swine and bastard Sampaio) and because of whom, mean who are the supporting him (and why) for this salary, and only because of this reason – the favorable publicity arrive. And at the right time too. Time, where I shouldn’t bother to be cautious entertaining “you” with my, the conventional parrot’s thinking. Breaking the all members from the “Galleria Suares”hearts – by such natural throw-back of theirs the Barroso’s and Solana’s “toda Subaru Empreza…” The жбан, полученный рыжей тварью Chubais from недорезанного Намибийского пигмея Putin, officially telling us that this was the Sayano-Shushenskaia. I don’t buy it. But, because of the Tony Blair (i.e. the future king of “what you do to find the job”) and the howling here with his voice interruptedly ‘friendly merge’ instead of ‘hostile takeover’ (contradicting/збивая my opinion in economical matters), and marrying all this Policy makers and CV brokers offshoots, i.e. vybliadkov in sequent. I remind you for this matter, the Hitachi marriage. (See again my Portland 450 cement?)And with this mother-fuckers, the protecting to the last bullet my heart (how he without reason was in pain) and my pocketbook – is the about to do nothing. But carry on, describing the my with fox encounter and translate this into the Crusoe’s living with the goats for a Quarter of the century just because one chap who challenge assumption about what sort of product the “public” wants.

Disgraced former finance minister found dead. Former Japanese Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa, who was forced to resign after appearing drunk at a G7 news conference earlier this year, was found dead in his Tokyo home. The cause of his death has not yet been determined.AFP - Japan's former finance minister Shoichi Nakagawa, who was forced to resign over his apparently drunken behaviour at a meeting of world powers, has been found dead at his home, police and news reports said Sunday. "We were informed that former finance minister Nakagawa has been found dead, but we are still unaware of further details," said a spokesman for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Nakagawa, 56, was found dead in a bedroom at his home in Tokyo's residential distrct of Setagaya, Jiji Press news agency and other media said, adding that the cause of death was not immediately unknown. Nakagawa, a close ally of then prime minister Taro Aso, was incoherent and slurred his speech at a news conference in February after the Group of Seven talks in Rome amid the global economic crisis. Nakagawa, a heavyweight in the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), said he had sipped some wine with lunch before the press conference but blamed jet lag and cold medicine for his drowsiness. The debacle dealt a blow to Aso, who resigned last month after his conservative LDP suffered a massive defeat against Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's Democratic Party of Japan in general elections in August. Nakagawa, who had made no secret about his fondness for drinking, promised to swear off alcohol ahead of the elections, but lost his seat in his constituency in Hokkaido, northern Japan. His father was also an LDP heavyweight who was found dead in 1983 in a hotel room. The death was later ruled to be suicide. Nakagawa joined the Industrial Bank of Japan in 1978 after graduating from the elite University of Tokyo. He spent five years at the bank, which is now part of the Mizuho financial group. Nakagawa had triggered controversy with strong criticism of China and calls for Japan -- the only nation to have suffered an atomic attack -- to consider developing nuclear weapons. He was also known for being pro-Taiwan, admiring independence-minded former president Lee Teng-hui. Beijing regards the island as part of Chinese territory.

The fox stalk me.

How should I think if I see the triple dream? Triple, because the origin comes from three different sources. The three different groups and at least three different parties. Feel complete confusion. Dreams were about my suit. This seems to be stolen from me in one very push hotel. (The almohads mayobki). Next scene, I’m dressing this suit but he is completely caked on my back by someone puig. Than I see myself in dry cleaning shop and the падло are hiding this suit from me. (From the Carvalho and UN story…) In the next, this servant, butler now in my changing room, like a monkeys jump from one closet to another. Offering the suits to me with patterns I won’t. (Dirty, caked suit foretell fraud and warn about danger when dealing with an unknown people. Such dream can presage something which can stain your reputation. Also, can indicate the end of the attachments and affections. Dressing the suit, indicate that you want your power to be noticed.) Only when I arguing with this dream in my sleep and was ready to tell which was the reason of why I spit at the Jew in my bank, - than this weird and triple dream fade away. Instead, appeared one more clown (i.e. politician) carrying in his toot’s, like the dog, who is he in deed, his son to the “big Taicho”. (See the picture today of Lebedev and his son). For that, who say a couple “dreams” before: ‘Give a job – than speak’. Well, the Barroso – don’t have a son, - but the bastard enough to make this kind of requisitions. Or why the Tony Blair is good for EU. I.e. to think about marriage of young Bush daughter with the vybliadok of Tony Blair. What ever, my point is that after this C.I.F. delivery – I woke up. Early at night, I receive blow in my head, but get up fresh. Not too much contempt, nor very sad ether. This was at 5:00 AM. Attripulating all this to the inner process of re-evaluations through which I’m passing. Without too much will to underestimate the significance of what I feel and think. Putting my clothes on, went to the nearby McDonalds take a breakfast. Than some wonder happen to me. Fare to say, that this wasn’t a first time. The fox stalk me in the middle of the Bethnal Green. The street, only a mile away from the City. That centre of Financial World. He runs across the street passing in two feet’s from where I stood. Poor sod, wasn’t in good shape. The right rear fluke was seriously wounded. The first, the second and this time, the same thought pass through my head – ‘Such a good omen man’. After such night, trying to dribble the a seriously bad fortunes of my miserable life, to impromptu mastering a some mapped escape route “out!” for today – I hit this bingo… Pitiable creature saving me from sinking into the total obscurity… Of course, I can attripulate puig in my back like a old Bush vomiting at the Japanese Prime Minister. Or, for this matter, to the “Nine ½ week” with “regular” Croes. But this always will be the situation were I may have let the cat out of the bag. And it’s now running around the room (i.e. the “negocios de grandes superficios”) clawing the sofa and climbing the curtains. Isn’t it cute? No. it isn’t, and no matter how much I try, I still (for the sick of the pirate Solana salary, for the ‘в списках не значился’, and the Basel II Interbank Agreement) have some explaining to do:

Air traffic 'up and running again'. Last Updated: Saturday, 03 October 2009, 12:34 GMT Air traffic control systems are back up and running after a breakdown grounded many transatlantic flights leaving the UK. The fault happened at Prestwick airport's air traffic control hub at 8am on Saturday, causing delays at airports across the country, a spokewoman for Nats, which is responsible for the UK's air traffic management, said. Engineers have now resolved the problem and restrictions on flights over the north Atlantic airspace have been lifted, she said. Airports would now be working to clear a backlog of flights that have been unable to leave as a result of the fault. A spokesman for BAA, which owns seven of the UK's major airports including Heathrow, said they were working to get delayed passengers on their way. "There are some delays still but it is getting back to normal," she said. At Heathrow's Terminal Three check-in desks were operating as usual, and there were no warnings of delays on information screens. Elizabeth Langford, 62, from Portsmouth, who was waiting for a flight to New York with her family, said: "We only heard about it when we were on our way to the airport. "When we checked in we were told we might have to wait, but that because it was to do with air traffic control they didn't know how long for." Others had not even been told about the possibilities of delays on their flights across the Atlantic.

The radical change in business strategy represents a major gamble by Alexander Lebedev, the Russian billionaire who acquired London's only paid-for evening newspaper earlier this year, when he bought a majority shareholding for £1 from Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail. The plan, which comes into effect on 12 October, involves more than doubling the distribution of the paper to 600,000 and attempting to recover the lost circulation revenue through increased advertising. In an editorial published in yesterday's evening edition, Mr Lebedev pledged his commitment to supporting quality journalism in spite of the decision to give the paper away. "An essential fabric of a free and democratic society is high-quality journalism. It acts as a deterrent against corruption and is a way to highlight what is beneficial and worth celebrating," he said. "The Standard has been producing exceptional journalism since 1827 and that is not going to change under my ownership." Related articles. Geordie Greig: 'I think the digital generation have got used to not paying for information' The news is the latest dramatic development in an evening newspaper war that has continued in London for more than three years. It began with Rupert Murdoch's announcement in 2006 that he would be launching thelondonpaper, a freely distributed title, dependent on advertising revenue. Associated Newspapers, then owner of the Standard, launched its own free paper in response, London Lite. The streets of the capital were transformed as vendors dressed in mauve and purple competed to place copies in the hands of Londoners as they made their way home from work. The Standard saw circulation undermined by the new arrivals but attempted to remain aloof from the battle by celebrating the quality of its journalism and maintaining its cover price. When the heavily loss-making thelondonpaper ceased production last month, amid pronouncements from Mr Murdoch that he wanted his newspapers online and in print to be charging for content, it was thought that the free paper war was over. Yesterday's announcement that the Standard, which boasts high-profile writers such as Simon Jenkins, Brian Sewell and Mihir Bose, will be given away creates the prospect of a new skirmish. Associated's London Lite, which receives stories and articles from the Standard, is now in competition in the free market with Lebedev's paper, in which Associated has retained a 24.9 per cent stake. Associated said yesterday that production of the London Lite was still "business as usual". The Standard's move to a free model will be watched with interest from across the regional and national press, where circulations are in widespread decline but advertising revenues are also in recession. Sources at the Standard say advertising income has improved in recent weeks to levels above those of last year. Andrew Mullins, the Standard's managing director, said that giving the paper away would give the paper a far greater readership in the capital than national titles. "There are so many competing distractions to potential readers, particularly with new technologies," he admitted. "Being a quality newspaper with large scale and reach should transform our commercial fortunes."

You know the expression: “Happy like a clown”?

You know the expression: “Happy like a clown”? This was my general idea after hearing the Co asking me to be more social, more “dado” and to participate in whatever form with my writings in the US – Iran negotiations’. After yesterday sighting of the two teams from secret police speaking in Spanish, after the “all my tree” “without the reason” gathering at the “our” supermarket, (see the “No 10 maisonette”) with a mullah with the age of the minor, the same mullah who constantly are doping at my windows, and than like today, are offering to me his ear, I can answer to this indecent by the within financial reasons of this proposal – fi-i-ine. More yet if: “…Iran has agreed to significantly reduce its stocks of uranium is the most striking outcome of Thursday’s talks between Tehran and the world powers…” Mean, between the pirate Solana and his almohad brother. Although, politically (from the ‘poor like a church rat’ point of view) I suspect that this entire proposal arrive from my, old time friend. If true, the all this US – Iran negotiations is something natural, from nature and to the nature way. And if I am right in my guess from where these come from, I’ll just short my answer to this colossal and strategic proposal with one common point of view which we shared a many years ago. That long tong of Jack London, which ones said: “Nature did not care. To life she set one task, gave one law. To perpetuate was the task of life, its law was death.” (1876 – 1916). Now, if I believe in my plans, and if I’m ready to “rewrite” my own definitions of who I am and what I’m capable off, that I can start describing how the puppy from London Rathause (i.e. the vybliadok of Bragança, responsible by the Transport of London Metropolitan) for two days was trying to selling me the his, “reasonably priced” daughter. By the way, telling me that this is the British Petroleum’s pure bread. And that the her trunk had nothing but sparkles from Gujarat with the Jews “certificates” and visas. And that the Iranians “Magic lantern of Aladdin” – is just the english speaking world in what knows by the “what you do to find the job” as the working fun. That second act in a very knowing play called “David Kelly”, which I think that, can be attripulated too to the “my old time friend” ‘indecent proposal’. If you live in this planet with attention for last four decades, you can agree with term “indecent”. Because of financial side of the Royalties and Concessions universally applicable to the any nation of the…, and to the ongoing… from my pocket. Any one knows how I don’t like to write these words. But, my this morning behavior, and how I feel tired, confuse, and with seriously weak coordination of movements, all this help understood what I mean. Maybe the similarly feel the чмо Lavrov reading the pages of vedomosti.ru, the for all Kremlin похоронка. (see the text below). Which like all things of the nature, - don’t arrive along. They arrive together with a 9 000 people lay-out in the Rssneft. With the elimination by the GM of the Saturn brand. (Because of Penske Automotive Group pull out at last moment. In my opinion, it’s derivates from the Renault (France) and the Opel (Sberbank)’s fresh situation in the “new” Energy Policy front. And finally, the “in time and super-important” news arrived from Portugal. With names, dates and with further than goal purpose. Maybe it’s philosophical, but working up this avenues can at least calm others people proposals and curiosities.

Xstrata gets Anglo offer deadline. Swiss-based miner Xstrata has been given just over three weeks to make a firm takeover for rival Anglo-American.The Takeover Panel has issued a "put up or shut up" order after an application from Anglo - which felt uncertainty over a possible bid was distracting. If Xstrata does not make an formal offer by 20 October it must walk away from any deal for at least six months. Xstrata approached Anglo in June with a merger-of-equals proposal when both companies were valued at about £20bn. Falling demand Xstrata had claimed a union "of equals" between "these two world-class companies" was "highly compelling". However, Anglo dismissed its rival's approach as "totally unacceptable" and "lacking strategic merit". Chairman of Anglo American, Sir John Parker, welcomed the Takeover panel's move. "We have reaffirmed our conclusion that Xstrata's proposal is not in the interests of our shareholders," he said, Mining firms have been hit by falling demand for metals amid the downturn. They have also had problems raising cash because of the credit crunch, which last year led Xstrata to abandon its £5bn bid for its rival Lonmin. Earlier this year, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton agreed a joint venture - a deal struck after Rio scrapped a planned tie-up with Chinalco, a state-controlled Chinese company.

"No 10” maisonette.

"No 10” maisonette. Seeing at the morning one female UK’s politician walk at my direction with bunch of keys in her hand (i.e. the “syndicate” know-how), I know that the yesterday phrase: “…The first person who will ask me what I did in a 14 years gap between 1995 to the present day –WILL BE DEAD…” – hit the aim. And when the security people were all way to the City, talking to theirs Walkie – Talkie in Spanish, - I knew that my veiling desire for greater political and professional security toils quite well. It’s a stupid occupation, which this female UK’s politician gives me, to count the corpses. You see how this is theirs essential bread. However, speaking about “such rare” from today morning close encounters of the third kind, - do a lot of sparks concerning the public credibility, corporate ethics, to my worries about “product” safety and theirs sequent “secret”. I can say here, the “sensitive” information. But, hold on mum! In this way we are seriously increasing the dealings with corporate business, with the matter related to ‘joint’ finances, corporate money and shares. With our insurance, pensions and taxes. And we are not interested (when you want), in the Samoa earthquake. Going around and covering all that mess with my Pago-Pago bum. For this argument, you’ll say to me, well man, there is a counter argument. Like that of for every certainty (i.e. the yesterday’s face of Autoeuropa), - there is a certain misgiving arriving from Styria this morning. M-mm, for every one to see that I had a plan. This is: Lady and Gentleman! Because of $19 billion dollars of Rio-Chinalco business – people do many crazy things. Earth quakes included. ‘Strange’ things, like the for example, choosing the Norwegian for important Euro-post. And than all this, “changing for kids” again. See in spanish the Cisco-Tandberg videoconferences’ “arrangement”. Good Lord. I am not a teacher. To conduct the seminars, or another sort of the servicing to the public. I’ll than, like today, closely survey the reaction of my “attendees”. With the finality to catch the areas and places for the further emphasize and expansion. With this, like the Pinto Balsemão’s Italian Tigers (see the “No 10” article) – I will not hesitate to form a “new” acquaintances.

Former headteacher of Elmhurst School for Boys and wife found stabbed to death in Croydon maisonette Son questioned over murder of parents. The son of a couple found knifed to death in a maisonette was being questioned by police today. Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Campden Road, south Croydon, where they found the two bodies just before 12.20pm yesterday. Reports named them as former headteacher Barry Dighton, 61, and his wife, Elizabeth, 60. Police said they were awaiting formal identification of the victims and would not comment further. A web page set up in tribute to the Dightons quoted close friend Edward Handley as saying: "I am deeply saddened by the news. He was a very nice man and his wife was a lovely lady. They were such a kind and deeply caring couple who thought only of others." The couple had been married for 40 years and had recently moved to south Croydon to be near their son Daniel, according to the tribute. Dighton retired last year as headmaster of Elmhurst School for Boys in south Croydon, one of the leading independent prep schools in the country. He was still involved in school activities and was secretary of the Croydon Schools Cricket Association. Forensic officers were examining the property last night. A man who lives in the street said he realised something was wrong when he saw police officers running past a neighbour's window. "At first, we could just see two police cars but shortly after they were everywhere, with cars, vans and three ambulances and an air ambulance," he said. "I saw a man with dark hair, aged in his thirties being led out in handcuffs.
